Concept
In 2005 Allan Carrington was invited by EDUCAUSE to help pioneer podcasting at their national conference in Florida USA. It was 35,000 feet above the Pacific, as he returned home, that he began to develop the idea of ‘extending the wisdom’ of a conference through the podcasting of interviews with presenters and participants.
Allan soon after developed a A Model for Podcasting Educational Conferences, putting the concept into practice with his leadership of podcast teams at ASCILITE 2006 and LAMS 2006 To help interaction and feedback, interactive voice tools in were added in 2007. Dr. Ian Green joined with him subsequently, collaborating on the podcast program at ASCILITE 2007.
Ian, Allan and a podcast team have recently recorded interviews at ASCILITE 2008 and are presently in post production. Create World 2008 is the first Apple University Consortium (AUC) conference they have worked on and in the very near future they will lead an educational podcast program co-sponsored by the AUC and Computer Using Educators Inc (CUE) at MACWORLD 2009.

Interviewers
Interviews for Create World 2008 were conducted by Allan Carrington, Ian Green, Kate Foy and Cat Hope.
Blog Writers
Blog posts were mostly authored by Ian Green and Allan Carrington, with contributions from Kate Foy and Cat Hope. Posts were edited by Ian Green.
Photos of interviewees were generally taken by interviewers at the time of recording. Some additional photos have been sourced from the AUC Create World 2008 photo collection, collected by Stephen Johnston and Paul Godfrey.
Audio Production
Interviews were recorded on Zoom H2 machines, and were post-produced by Allan Carrington and Ian Green on Mac Book Pros using Garage Band and Audacity. We have sought as much as possible to preserve the character of the original interviews. Post-production has been mostly confined to control of volume, suppression of background noise, and deletion of extraneous comments, false starts etc. No additional audio has been inserted or overdubbed into the interviews in the course of post-production, and no reordering of discussions has been undertaken.
Vodcast Episodes
The Three Professors episode was produced by Allan Carrington using Fotomagico Pro to create a slideshow from photos provided by Stephen Johnston and Paul Godfrey (AUC). A high resolution full screen version of this can be obtained by contacting us.
